Jeffery Dean Bernath Obituary

HUDSON- Jeffery Dean Bernath, 49, of Waldron, MI, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 3, 2016, at his home. He was born April 25, 1966, in Hudson, to Ronald and Connie (Kerr) Bernath. He married Tammy Robison on May 6, 1989, in Hudson, and she survives.

Jeff was a 1984 graduate of Waldron High School and a lifetime resident and supporter of the community. He was the current village council president of Waldron and has served several years on the council as well as the Waldron School Board. He was a faithful supporter of Waldron athletics, and served as a basketball coach and Athletic Booster president for 17 years. Jeff was also the president of the Axis and Allies Club in Waldron. He also organized the Waldron Summer League Baseball and the annual Waldron Labor Day Softball Tournament for 17 years. Jeff will be sorely missed by his family, his countless friends, and the Waldron community.

Surviving in addition to his wife of over 26 years, Tammy, are his children, Francis Bernath of Waldron, Robert Bernath of Roanoke, IN, and Alan Bernath at home; three sisters, Lisa (John) Enerson of Hudson, Peggy Knepper of Waldron, and Sandy (Danny) Knepper of Waldron; a brother, Randy (Eva) Bernath of Reading, MI; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lowell and Liz Robison of Waldron; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Jeff will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday afternoon, from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the Waldron High School. Interment will take place at a later date in Waldron Cemetery.
