John Verlayne "Jack" Watts Obituary
John Verlayne "Jack" Watts, 91, of Allen, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home. He was born November 2, 1926 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Vernie and Anna (Cash) Watts. Jack married Norma Jean Matsel on October 9, 1949 and she survives. Jack will remain the love of her life.
After graduating from Wentworth Military Academy Jack went on to serve his country in the United States Army Air Corp in WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the United Methodist Church in Allen. Jack was also a life member of the NRA and the Jackson Emmaus Community.
In addition to his wife, Norma, Jack, is survived by his daughters, Jill and Gerald Brouhard of Bloomfield Hills and Jeanne Ann and Steven Gittler of Macomb Township; sons, John E. and Lanay Watts and Joseph L. Watts both of Allen; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Funeral services for Jack Watts will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Larry Rubingh officiating. Interment will be held in Allen Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends for visitation from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 and on Monday at 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the or Allen United Methodist Church.
