Joseph Caines Madison Obituary
Joseph Caines Madison, 90, of Hillsdale, went to be with his Lord Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his home. He was born August 26, 1923 in Hardy, Kentucky to Joseph Hall and Ethel Madison. Joseph married Jean E. Mears in Highland Park, Michigan on September 1, 1949 and she survives.

Joe received his Eagle Scout Award and graduated from Scott High School in Madison, West Virginia in 1941 and from Georgetown College in Georgetown Kentucky in 1949. He served his country during D-Day and WWII in the 5th Armored Division of the United States Army. He was employed in purchasing at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Yardman Corporation in Jackson and later retired from Hillsdale Tool as the Vice-President of Sales. Joe was a member of the Eagle Board of Review, Hillsdale Community Health Center Board of Directors, Kimball Camp YMCA Board of Directors and the Hillsdale United Brethren Church. Joe was also a member of Exchange Club and the recipient of the Book of Golden Deeds Award.

In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, Jean Madison, Joe is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Madison of Hillsdale; two sons, Joseph Alvin (Lisa) Madison of Acworth, Georgia and John Edward Madison of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren, Joseph Paul, Kelsie and Courtney Madison; two great-grandsons, Johnathan and Joseph Chandler Madison and a sister, Ethel Bell of Columbus, Ohio.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Harold, Fred and George Madison.

Memorial services for Joe Madison will be Saturday, January 18, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hillsdale United Brethren Church. Interment will take place at a later date at Ridgelawn Memorial Cemetery in Oxford, Michigan. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
