Joseph L. Steveson Obituary
Joseph L. Steveson, age 67 of Manitou Beach, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan.

He was born on September 30, 1949, in Addison, Michigan to Harold D. and Patricia A. (Milliken) Steveson. He married Sherry L. Boss on March 14, 1969, in Addison, and she survives. Joe lived all his life in the Manitou Beach area. He graduated from Addison High School in 1967. He was a 20 year retired veteran in the United States Marine Corp. He was formerly employed at Pinkerton Security at the Saline Ford Plant. He then was employed at SKD in Jonesville and then at L&W in Blissfield, retiring in 2000. Joe was a member of the Irish Hills Marine Corp League and the Lenawee County Conservation League. He was Commander of the Young Marines of Lenawee County. He was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping.

Surviving besides Joe's wife Sherry, is one daughter, Leslie J. (Matthew) Adkins of Manitou Beach, one son, Christopher T. (Michelle) Steveson of Hillsdale, grandchildren, "The Favorite Five" Zachary, Ashlynn, Sherry Joe, Aaron, Matthew, one brother, Michael Steveson of Manitou Beach, two sisters, Susan (Frank) Fox of Clinton, TN, Vanessa Votzke of Hillsdale, Joe's mother-in-law, Ruth Boss of Manitou Beach, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lindsay, granddaughter, Emma Joe Boss-Barnett, father-in-law, Rudy Boss, and a long time friend, Bob North.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 12 at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison. Burial will take place in Green's Lakeside Cemetery at Manitou Beach. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Military Honors will be performed. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Irish Hills Marine Corp League, Young Marines of Lenawee County, or to the Lenawee County Conservation League.
