Joseph Marlin Shook Obituary
Joseph Marlin Shook, of Spring Arbor, MI went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was the son of Marlin James and Maralee (Barnes) Shook, born January 3, 1947 in Hillsdale, MI.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila, of 51 years; four children, Joseph (Kim) Shook, Michael (Kelli) Shook, Amanda (Mikel) Clark, and Ryan (Alisha) Shook; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; twin brother, John (Diane) Shook; sister, Karen (Gary) Scott; sister in-law, Delvina Jordan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jim Shook.
He was a graduate of Reading High School and State Technical Institute where he received a drafting degree. Joseph worked for Orbitform Corporation, where he retired from in 2007 after many years of service. He was a member of the NRA, and Concord United Methodist Church. Joseph enjoyed fiddling, listening to Blue Grass music, and playing the harmonica and guitar. Joseph was known as the woodchucker.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson, at 1 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2018, with Pastor Rob Hughes officiating. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord United Methodist Church, 119 S. Main St., Concord, MI 49237.
The family received friends at the chapel on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. and on Monday, February 5, 2018 from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m.
