June R. (Thornton) Morehead Obituary
June R. Morehead, age 83, of North Adams, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 as she was under the loving care of her family and Southern Care Hospice. She was born June 13, 1930 in Hillsdale, Michigan the daughter of Dean and Helen Thornton.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, of 63 years, Richard Morehead; three children, Christine Dragoo of Richland, MI, Lorraine (Paul) Cook of Haslett, MI and Stephen (Laura) Morehead of Jerome, MI; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Sharon; one brother, Robert and one son-in-law, Francis Dragoo.

Mrs. Morehead was a faithful member of the North Adams First Baptist Church where she was an organist for many years and initiated the College Student Ministry. She taught piano and accordion out of her home and actively participated in the North Adams Alumni Association.

The family will be forever grateful for the compassionate care of her niece, Helena Lehman and her loving angels from Southern Care Hospice, Yvonne and Brooke. We all rejoice that June is now in her Heavenly Home.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. June R. Morehead will be held at the North Adams First Baptist Church (141 E. Main Street) on Tuesday, April 29th beginning at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Eric Sass officiating. Interment will take place in the Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to Southern Care Hospice, to the North Adams First Baptist Church or to a .
