Keith J. Lewis Obituary

JONESVILLE - Keith John Lewis, 62, of Jonesville, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family and close friends. He was born May 28, 1953 in Wyandotte, Michigan to John and F. Joyce (Chapman) Lewis, who both survive in Hillsdale. Keith married Marilyn Bakhaus on February 26, 1977 and she also survives.

Keith graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1971, attended Michigan Technological University and graduated from Ferris State University in 1977 with a Pharmacy Degree. He later earned a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology Pharmacy. Keith was the former director of pharmacy at Hillsdale Community Health Center and he was formerly employed at Community Health Center of Branch County, Hillsdale Kroger, and Allegiance Health. Keith was an elder and choir member of Jonesville First Presbyterian Church and former board member of the Jonesville Community School Board and Hospice of Hillsdale County. He also served as a board member and volunteer for St. Peters Free Health Clinic since its inception. Keith enjoyed hunting, traveling, taking photographs and spoiling his grandsons. He will be remembered for his love of finding a good deal and pulling great pranks.

In addition to his wife and parents, Keith is survived by daughter, Brooke (Greg) Lewis-Stiverson of Reading; son, Benjamin (fiancé Sandy) Lewis of Ypsilanti; two grandsons, Peyton Green and Karter Stiverson; sister-in-law, Connie Lewis of Battle Creek and three nieces, Emily, Jennifer and N'evaeh.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Lewis.

Memorial services for Keith Lewis will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Jonesville First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gary Oliver officiating. Family interment will take place in the Jonesville First Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
