Laverne K. "Salty" Loveless Obituary
Laverne K. "Salty" Loveless, 84, of Allen, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2013, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. He was born December 3, 1928, in Hillsdale Co. to Wilbur & Vera Marie (Leach) Loveless. He was married July 26, 1957 to Sarah "Margaret" Barron Sanborn and she preceded him in death March 22, 2002.

Laverne worked at Consumer Power Company from 1953-1993 and was also a retired farmer. He was a member of the Utilities Workers of America and the Jonesville United Methodist Church. Laverne was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during WWII and was a member and Past Commander of the Jonesville American Legion. Salty was an avid collector of antique tractors & antique signs and loved to attend antique tractor shows.

Survivors include 4 step-sons, Larry (Donna) Sanborn of Clinton, Gary (Sandra) Sanborn of Allen, Michael (Lucille) Sanborn of Coldwater and Jack Sanborn of Ocala, Florida; a special friend and companion, Alyce Fuller of Jonesville; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren and 17 step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret and sister Martha Jane Loveless at birth.

Funeral services for Laverne "Salty" Loveless will be Monday, December 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Jonesville United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Pahl officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Litchfield. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 2-5 p.m., at the Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville and Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until services at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Jonesville American Legion or the Jonesville United Methodist Church.
