Lawrence George "Larry" Smith, Jr., of Osseo, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on October 7, 1976 in Hudson, Michigan, the son of Teresa (Kane) Keys and Larry Smith, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; three sons, Luke, Logan and Levi; his mom, Teresa of Osseo; step-dad, Fred Keys of Cambria; brothers and sisters, Chad Smith, Amy Miller and Kim Keys all of Osseo, Fred Keys of Howell, Mary (Kevin) Gibson of Hicksville, OH and Justin (Kari) Mault of Hanover; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie and Roger Kelly of Jonesville; father-in-law, Larry (Char Truitt) Mault of Hanover; grandparents, Richard and Lola Mault of North Adams along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins that were a special part of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Smith, Sr.; grandparents, William and Willa (Nichols) Kane and a brother-in-law, Brian Mault.
Larry's boys were a huge part of his life and he taught them many things. He loved to teach them about fixing vehicles, hunting, fishing, restoring tractors and becoming fine young men. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulling, fixing things, cooking and camping. He loved having a good time with his many friends and family. Larry was the type of person that would be there to help whenever asked.
A funeral service to honor the life of Lawrence George "Larry" Smith, Jr. will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale, at 12 noon Saturday, December 16th beginning, with Greg Ryan officiating. Interment will take place in the Leonardson Cemetery in Jefferson Township. The family will receive friends for visitation, at the funeral home in Hillsdale, on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
