Linda Sue Poston Obituary

HILLSDALE - Linda Sue Poston of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away on February 4, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 27, 1953 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Parker and Mary Ellen (Whitson) Baker.

Linda is survived by her husband, Joe Poston whom she married on March 4, 1986; two sons, Reed Michael Betz of Crested Butte, CO and Nathan Andrew Betz of Jerome, MI; three sisters, Jerilyn (Douglas) Fosbender of Concord, MI, Sue Benton of Waddell, AZ, and Sherry Revard of Toledo, OH; numerous nieces and nephews including, Matthew Bildner and Olivia Steele and their son Lincoln Bildner, Patrick (Anne) Hageman and their children Axel and Raven Hageman, and Stephanie (Steve) Dee and their son Kyle Dee.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; one nephew, Scott Hageman and her Godson, Jake Hageman.

Linda, better know as Mom, is the signature definition of true selfless service. She believed in, poured herself in to, and taking care of the world around her, never asking for anything in return, never putting herself before any other, selflessly. Mom was devoted to unconditionally loving and raising her family. She did anything to make everything possible for her family. Mom was the most compassionate, loving, caring, giving and selfless woman known and loved so very much, not only by her family, but all across this community to the far reaches of the Rocky Mountains and beyond.

Linda grew up on the roller rink as a figure skater where she met her later to be, and present day husband. A true love story, in its highest regard, a recipe of what dreams are made of. She could often be found with her family, enjoying a cold iced tea and the easy life around the campfire, watching nieces and nephews play in the out doors.

Linda was a legal secretary her entire professional career. She was a member of the Hillsdale First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Legal Secretary Association.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Pat Brook officiating. At her request cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the family.
