Marjory Lou (Milliman) Sprague Obituary
Marjory Lou (Milliman) Sprague passed to her heavenly home on January 8, 2018, at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility in Hillsdale, MI..  Marjory was born on July 20, 1931, in Fulton County (Fayette), Ohio, the daughter of Leon and Lena (Barber)Milliman.  She graduated valedictorian of the 1949 class of Gorham-Fayette High School.  She married Verl D. Sprague in 1949, and they had many wonderful years together until his death in 2016.  Marjory lived in Hudson, MI for more than 50 years and worked in the Hudson Area High School cafeteria for 23 years. She loved to vacation with family and friends.  Marjory was a great cook and all her grandchildren remember the special Sunday dinners at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Marjory was an avid reader and especially enjoyed historical books and writings about the Civil War.  Before suffering a stroke in 1996, she and Verl traveled to many Civil War battlefields.  Marjory was a member of the Hudson Wesleyan Church, serving as secretary, Sunday school teacher and in other capacities, wherever needed.
Marjory is survived by two daughters, Bonny (Ian) Parsons of Knoxville, TN and Rebecca (Gary) Cole of Hillsdale, MI.  She will be missed by her six grandchildren, Julie (Troy) Legge, Jennifer Shinabery, Rachel (Mark) Hacker, Kelly (Todd) Ritchey, Michael (Anita) Cole and Tiffany (Steven) Hosler as well as eleven great grandchildren and one due in April.
All of Marjory's siblings, as well as parents, preceded her in death; Willard, Duane and Rodney Milliman and Roselyn (Milliman) Santee.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson, MI with Pastor Wesley Rowan officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci, MI. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Hudson Wesleyan Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
