Mary Ellen (Lyon) Burger Obituary
Mary Ellen Burger, 89 years of Osseo, formerly of the Hudson area, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility in Hillsdale. She was born on April 25, 1928, in Pittsford, the daughter of Clifton H. and Margaret (Carpenter) Lyon.
Mary Ellen attended Pittsford Schools and graduated from Gaylord High School. She married Henry Dewitt Burger on June 6, 1946, in Gaylord. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2016. Mary Ellen retired from RIMA Manufacturing. She was a member of Wheatland Congregational Church.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur (Donna) Burger of Bedford, IN, and Ronald (Kay) Burger of Indianapolis, IN, son-in-law, Louis Fahrer of Liberty Center, OH, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister, Anna May Frank of Pittsford, half -sisters, Laberta Deller of Wisconsin and Betty Shirch of Florida, half- brother, Fred Paul of Manitou Beach and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Donna Fahrer, parents, step-parents, sisters, Wilma Harmon and Alice Lyon, half-sisters, Jonnette Paul and Margie Bridenbach and half-brothers, Kenneth Paul and Harry Lyon.
Funeral Services for Mary Ellen will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Clyde L. Wonders, officiating. Interment will follow at Leonardson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsford. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Wheatland Congregational Church.
