Nancy K. (Brogan) Gerig Obituary
Nancy K. Gerig, 57, of Lime Creek Rd., Hudson, died Tuesday afternoon, December 31, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.

She was born September 12, 1956, in Hudson, to the late Edward and June (Cheney) Brogan. She married Steve Gerig on June 23, 1998, in Wauseon, OH, and he survives.

Nancy was a 1974 graduate of Hudson High School and was a life-long resident of the area. She served as a teller and bookkeeper in several of the banks in Hudson, including Hudson State Savings Bank, Bank of Lenawee, and First Federal. She later worked as a sales clerk at the Hudson Pharmacy. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson.

Nancy enjoyed reading, gardening, visits to the casino, and the many trips with Steve along the Michigan coast touring lighthouses. Her greatest enjoyment was her time spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Steve, are two step children, Josh Gerig (Carolyn Cooper) of Ackley, IA, and Tiffanie Tantillo (Chris Pennington) of Louisville, KY; two brothers, Richard (Georgia) Brogan of Bellvue, NE, and John Brogan of Hudson; two sisters, JoAnn (David) Clemens of Palmdale, CA, and Barbara Miller of Hudson; four step-grandchildren, Cameron, Adrianna, Aiden, and Shayla; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Shirley Gerig of Hudson; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Abby.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy will be celebrated Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Hudson. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, from 4-8 p.m., with a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
