Nannie L. "Nan" May 1934-2015

BLUEFIELD, Va - Nannie L. "Nan" May of Hillsdale, Michigan went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 21, 2015. She was born May 10, 1934 in Newhall, West Virginia the daughter of Charlie Mack and Mary Ruby (Brewster) Altizer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald May in 2014. She is survived by two brothers, Pete (Jean) Altizer of Doran, VA and Billy (Luna) Altizer of Waldorf, MD; three step-sons, Phil, Doug and Greg May and other family members and many friends.

Nan was a strong Christian woman who received the Lord as her Savior at an early age. She graduated from Radford College where she received a Bachelor Degree in Education and she taught school for a few years. She also graduated from Toccoa Falls Bible College in Georgia and was a Child Evangelist for 20 years. Nan was a beautiful woman who enjoyed encouraging those she would meet and she was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing the piano at the Gospel Barn in Hillsdale for 30 years.

A funeral service to honor the life of Nan May will be held at the Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia, on Monday, September 28, 2015 beginning at 10 a.m. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Gospel Barn in Hillsdale or to Gideon's International.
