Richard A. Morehead Obituary
Richard A. Morehead, age 86, of North Adams, Michigan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Monday, March 5, 2018. He was born December 29, 1931 in Jerome, Michigan, the son of Merl and Vera (Tuttle) Morehead.
He is survived by three children, Stephen (Laura) Morehead of Jerome, MI, Christine Dragoo of Richland, MI and Lorraine (Paul) Cook of Haslett, MI; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mary Luce of New York. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 63 years, June; one brother, Merl ""Duke"" Morehead; two sisters, Beverly DeMarsh and Gladys Day; one son-in-law, Francis Dragoo and his life-long friend, Dean Frederick.
Those that knew Richard found him to be a very devoted and loving family man who was always ready with a smile and a good joke. He was a Tool and Die Designer by trade and an avid sports fan and loved country and gospel music. He was a member of the Chasin Tails Beagle Club and a well-respected Beagle enthusiast that bred and trained award winning Beagles (with the trophies to prove it). He was also a very faithful man as he was an active member of the First Baptist Church of North Adams. Richard was a friend to everyone he met and touched innumerable lives. He will be deeply missed but his family rejoices that he is now in Heaven with his beloved June and spending an eternity in Joy.
""A family who has a Godly father is blessed beyond compare; He is their greatest prize in life – a treasure rich and rare. You were a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. You touched so many lives. You are greatly missed by all and forever in our hearts.""
