NORTH ADAMS - Richard Duane "Dick" Cook, Sr., of North Adams, Michigan passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was born December 25, 1938 in Stockbridge, MI, the son of Claude and Ila (Farrington) Cook.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Cook, whom he married on November 21, 1981; seven children, Yvonne Fedrick of Hillsdale, Karla (Tim) Crall of Scottsdale, AZ, Vicki (Max) Maestas of Apache Junction, AZ, Richard, Jr. "Rick" (Carolyn) Cook of Apache Junction, AZ, Jason (Nichole) Cook of Queen Creek, AZ, Calvin (Kerri) Comstock of North Adams and Candy (Joe) Parker of Eaton Rapids, MI; 10 grandchildren; one great grandson, one sister, Claudette Branch of Onsted; one brother, Kenneth (Patsy) Cook of Osseo and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Jack Branch.

Dick enjoyed working as a farmer throughout his life and also retired from the Hillsdale County Road Commission after 23 years of service. He was a longtime resident of North Adams and he was a member the Center Adams Antique Power Engine Tractor Club.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Richard Duane "Dick" Cook, Sr. will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Monday, June 13th beginning at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Tim Puckett officiating. Interment will take place in the Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home in Hillsdale, on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make contributions to Lauren's Institute for Education (L.I.F.E.) in honor of his Grandson, Kegan Cook. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
