Richard "Dick" Eagle 1929-2015

HUDSON - Richard "Dick" Eagle, 85, of Grand Haven and formerly of Waldron, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Harbor Hospice in Muskegon, MI. Dick was born December 11, 1929 in Reading, MI to M.F. "Ford" and Nina (Clingerman ) Eagle.
Dick was a graduate of Waldron High School and Western Michigan College. He worked for the railroad for many years before moving to California, where he was a self-employed pitching instructor for women's fast-pitch softball. Dick was well known for his pitching success for many teams from Michigan to California. In his final years he enjoyed yard work including pruning the walnut grove at Waldron Grain & Fuel Co. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Dick is survived his brother, Tom (Jill) Eagle of Grand Haven and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bob, Joe, Jerry and Ted Eagle.
Funeral services for Dick Eagle will Sunday, September 6 , 2015 at 2 p.m., at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Clyde Wonders officiating. Interment will follow at Waldron Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from noon until services at 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
