Robert E. "Bob" MacLennan Obituary
Robert E. "Bob" MacLennan, 87, of North Adams, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at his home. He was born February 7, 1930 in Detroit, the son of Kenneth and Edna (Morrhead) MacLennan. Bob married Grace Kenrick on December 28, 1954 and she survives.
Bob was a graduate of North Adams High School in 1948. He worked over 40 years as a Master Mason for O'Harrow Construction in Jackson, MI and was currently Vice-President of Radgar, Inc in Hillsdale. Bob was a very active member of the North Adams community, serving on the Village Council, Fire Department, Boy Scout Leader and coaching little league baseball. He was a member of the MacLennan Clan and Fiddler's Association. Bob loved to play bluegrass music on his guitar, blooper ball and was a very skilled wood worker. He served his country in the US Army in the Korean War, where he helped build the Thule Air Base in Greenland. Bob was also a member of the Hillsdale and Jonesville American Legions.
Survivors besides his wife, Grace are two children, Gisele "Jill" Luke of North Port, FL and Roderick "Rod" (Diane Underhill) MacLennan of Hillsdale; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marjorie (Roy) Kittle of Jerome.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Jim and Barbara.
A graveside service with Military Honors for Bob MacLennan will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams with Rev. Paul Pickell officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heart Research Institute or the Arthritis Association.
