Mr.  Robert G. Bailey Obituary
Robert Glenn Bailey, 85, of Hillsdale passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Robert was born in Algansee Twp., MI to Herbert and Audra (Wheaton) Bailey on August 14, 1931. He graduated from Quincy High School, Class of 1949. He married Joan Tuttle on February 18, 1950 and she passed away March 14, 1972. On October 22, 1977, Bob married Myrna Mercer King and she survives.

Bob is survived by three children, Michael (Phyllis) Bailey, Judith Bailey Zaleske and Barbara Bailey Southworth ; five grandchildren, Scot (Heather) Bailey, Kevin (Nicole) Bailey, Brian Bailey, Joann (Thomas) Fisher and Jeremy Southworth; nine great-grandchildren, Austin Hoath, Brennan, Raymond, Thomas, Paige, Aiden and Marco Bailey and Jaiden & Jace Fisher; six step-children; 10 step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren; and four nephews

In 1986 Bob retired from Hillsdale College as a maintenance supervisor after working for 12 years. He had previously worked at Tri-State Equipment in Pioneer, OH and for Game Time in Litchfield until they moved to Ft. Payne, AL. He was involved in the transition move but decided Alabama was just too far away from his family. His lifetime was spent with carpentry, which was his specialty. After the 1965 tornadoes in Hillsdale, he helped rebuild some of the homes in the Lake Wilson area.

Bob served his country in the US Army from 1952 – 1954 and was a former member of the Hillsdale American Legion. He was also a member of the Hillsdale Evening Garden Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Bailey; sister, Thelma Yearling; and nieces, Janet Yearling and Sue White.

Funeral services for Bob Bailey will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Reverends Alan Fenstermaker and Jessica Hahn officiating. Interment will follow at Cambria Cemetery #2. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
