Robert Milligan Obituary

Pittsford - Robert Lee Milligan, 71, of Osseo, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Drews Country Living, surrounded by his loving family and hospice care. Robert was born November 25, 1944 in Hillsdale to Sidney & Lela (Miller) Milligan. Bob married VaLinda Lee on April 10, 1965 and celebrated 51 years together.

Bob was a 1963 graduate of Pittsford High School. He attended Western Michigan and Jackson College to become a certified Tool and Die Maker. One of his proud accomplishments was making a tool kit that went into the space shuttle when he owned his own shop, Hill Top. Bob worked for Davco, Hoover Universal and Livona Tool & Die. In 1934 he became partners with his brothers-in-law at L & R Machine, Inc. until 2015. Bob loved golfing with his grandson Adam and going to horse shows and ball games for his granddaughters, Allyssa, Sydney and Hannah. Bob was also a member of the Pittsford Wesleyan Church.

Surviving besides his wife VaLinda are two daughters, RaLena (Chris) LoPresto of Osseo and Rachel (Chad) Patterson of Pittsford; four grandchildren, Adam LoPresto and fiance Ashley Poling of Angola, Indiana, Allyssa (Ethan) Cornett of Hudson, Sydney and Hannah Patterson of Pittsford; siblings, Wilma (Merlin) Mowery of Clinton and William (Sally) Milligan of Hudson; also many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ercel Julian and brothers-in-law, Robert Julian and Ned Horton.

Funeral services for Robert Milligan will be Monday, April 18, 2016, at 11 a.m., at the Pittsford Wesleyan Church with Pastor Douglas Plunkett officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Twp. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
