JONESVILLE - Ronald Eugene Dobbins, 83, of Jonesville, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at his home. Ron was born on July 3, 1932 in Jackson, Ohio to John W. and Kathryn Dobbins. He graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Ohio in 1950 and joined the US Navy, where he served from 1950-1955. Ron was employed by Bob Evans Farms and moved his family to Hillsdale, Michigan when the Bob Evans plant in Hillsdale began production. He retired from Bob Evans May 1994. Ron was an avid golfer (left-handed), who also enjoyed mowing at Mill Race Golf Course - especially hole #7, where he watched the deer play near the water during his early morning work. Ron was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan who kept his allegiance even though he lived in Michigan.

Ron is survived by his wife, Winifred "Winnie" Dobbins, whom he married August 15, 1952. Also surviving are four daughters, Deborah (Stanley) Clingerman, Hillsdale; Teresa A. Dobbins (Beth Taylor), Gaithersburg, Maryland: Kimberly S. Dobbins (James Ahern - deceased), Winnetka, Illinois and Shari K. Brown (Michael) Walton, East Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ron enjoyed his five grandchildren, Jackie (Bob) Hays, Jessica (Mike) Carey, Kelly Brown, Casey Brown and Jamie Ahern; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Claudia - who affectionately referred to him as "Poppie". He is also survived by a sister and two brothers and was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

At Ron's request, his body was donated to the University of Michigan Medical School and there will be no services or calling hours at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Hillsdale County or Perennial Park Senior Center. Please visit www.eaglefuneralhomes.com to leave online condolences.
