Rosemary Hillabrand Obituary
Rosemary Hillabrand, age 94, of Glendale, California and formerly of Hillsdale, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017, at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, California. She was born December 29, 1922 St. Joseph, Missouri to Anthony & Margaret (Sloan) Swinchoski. Rosemary was married June 6, 1946 to Carroll "Gus" Hillabrand , he preceded her in death May 26, 2003.
Rosemary was manager of the Comcast Cable Company office in Hillsdale for 24 years, retiring in 1990. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Convent in St. Joseph, Missouri, an all girl school. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale for over 60 years, a member of the CCW, a volunteer and member of the HCHC Auxiliary for 16 years and a member of Sacred Heart Alumni.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen (Tewie) Hillabrand of Sunland, CA and Richard (Maria) Hillabrand of Glendale, CA; three grandchildren, Kelly Rodriquez, Lisa Firns and Alexandra Hillabrand; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edwin (Dorothy) Swinchoski of St. Joseph, MO.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gregory, grandson, Jeffery and a brother, Albert.
A mass of Christian burial for Rosemary Hillabrand will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 2, at St. Anthony Church in Hillsdale with Fr. David Reamsnyder as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
