Shirley Ann (Sigler) Anspaugh Obituary
Shirley Ann (Sigler) Anspaugh, 79, of Camden, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the Home Away from Home Adult Foster Care where she resided with tender care since her progressive battle with dementia. Born April 9, 1938 to the late Cloyd and Frieda (Barrington) Dunlap.
A lifelong resident of the Frontier, Camden area, she graduated from Camden-Frontier School in 1956. She married Jack Sigler July 27, 1957 and he preceded her in death on August 16, 1976. She married Richard (Dick) Anspaugh June 28, 2008 and he survives.
Shirley, a lifelong resident in Hillsdale County, worked as an aide and bus driver at Camden-Frontier School, New Hope School and the Hillsdale Intermediate School District. She also served as a manager of Guest Services at Camp Michindoh until her retirement. She loved camping, fishing, crocheting, playing Euchre, cake and party decorating, cooking, cruising in the classic Cadillac, and riding the hills and dales in the jeep and off-road vehicles. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters, Shirley (Dave) Curtis and Amy (Chet) Schaedler, both of Hillsdale and sons, Jack (Connie) Sigler of Camden and Tim Sigler of Smithville TN; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several extended grandchildren; siblings, Eunice (Harry) Guy and Harvey Dunlap, both of Camden; and stepchildren, Diane Heath, Jeff (Connie) Anspaugh, Alan (Denise) Anspaugh, Kenny (Beth) Anspaugh.
She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Jodi Tillman and Aria Lewis; sister, Ruth Sanders and daughter-in-law, Deb Sigler.
Funeral services for Shirley Anspaugh will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, at the Van-Horn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Rev. Terry Bobzien officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Frontier Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 3-5 p.m. Sunday from at the funeral home.
