Thomas J. Miazgowicz Obituary
Thomas J. Miazgowicz, age 79 of Monroe, died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17th at the home of his daughter. He had been in declining health for 1 1/2 years since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Family and friends may visit from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. He will lie in state at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Newport. Rev. John Chinnappa will celebrate Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Burial with committal services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday at Camden Cemetery, Camden, Michigan.

Born March 17, 1937 in Wyandotte, Michigan, Tom was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Lapinski) Miazgowicz. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1955 and married Marguerite L. Thompson on November 16, 1957 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2001.

Tom was employed by General Motors at their Hydra-Matic Plant in Toledo, retiring as Supervisor after 28 years. He was a member of St. Charles Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Tom is survived by seven children, Anthony (Kelley) Miazgowicz of Wolverine, Michigan, Thomas (Debra) Miazgowicz, Jr. of Temperance, Catherine (David) Masserant of Monroe, Stephen (Julie) Miazgowicz of Lambertville, Jeffery Miazgowicz of Auburn, Indiana, Diane (Keith) Nolan of Manitou Beach, Michigan, and Karen (Wyett) Lemke of Camden, Michigan; a brother, Joseph (Jean) Miazgowicz of Rohnert Park, California; two sisters, Theresa March and Mary Miazgowicz, both of Monroe; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Tom was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Oliver; a brother, David Miazgowicz; and two sisters, Patricia Weckerly and Caroline Boyno.

Memorial donations in Tom's memory may be made to St. Charles School Building Fund.
