Virginia A. Benzing Obituary
Virginia A. Benzing, 71, of Hillsdale passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born June 17, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to Sylvester and Marjorie (Doolan) VanBrunt. She married Lance Benzing Sr. on January 6, 1962 in Midland Park, NJ and he survives.

Virginia was a manager for Red Cross in Ann Arbor and Hillsdale. She also worked for Hillsdale College and J.C. Penney in Hillsdale. Virginia was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Surviving besides her husband Lance Sr. are 4 children, Theresa Benzing of Dorr, MI, Lance (Kamie) Benzing Jr. of Hillsdale, Darrin (Melissa) Benzing of Pellston and Marc Benzing of Hillsdale; 14 grandchildren, Aaron (Nicole) Benzing, Amanda (Matt) Biddinger, Mitchell, James, Andrew, Jesse, Anna, Liza, Levi, Kassidy, Rylee, Aubrey and Kyra Benzing and Brody Zoerner; great-grandson, Urijah Benzing; siblings, Marjorie (Duane) Davis of Fridley, MN, Marie (Roger) Marriott of Hillsdale and Gerald VanBrunt of Midland Park, NJ.

A mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Benzing will be Monday, September 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale with Fr. David Reamsnyder as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 2-4 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with a prayer service at 4:00 Sunday evening with J.J. Hodshire officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale Co. or the National Kidney Foundation.
