Virginia Marie (Dopp) Maxson Obituary
Virginia Marie Maxon 1928-2015

HILLSDALE - Virginia Marie Maxson, 87, of Pittsford went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 30, 2015. As she left her loving family, she was greeted in Heaven by so many loved ones who have gone before her.

Virginia was born on September 20, 1928 in Lenawee County, Michigan, the daughter of Lewis and Sylvia (Hephner) Dopp. She grew up in the Waldron area and graduated from Waldron High School.

She married William A. (Dell) Maxson Jr. on November 23, 1946 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death in March of 2002.

Virginia was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She always had time for her loved ones and enjoyed doing special things for them and with them.

She worked hard and faithfully with her husband in the Maxson Milk Hauling business and farmed for over 55 years.

Virginia was a member of the Pittsford Wesleyan Church. She was involved in Bible studies, prayer groups and working with the young children and the Missionary Society. She faithfully prayed for the needs of others.

One of the things she loved to do was tend her flowerbeds and mow lawns. She liked going on rides and enjoying God's creation in all seasons. She looked forward to summer when she could go on pontoon rides on Baw Beese Lake.

Virginia is survived by her children, Janice (Melvin, Pat) Tuckerman, Larry (Beverly) Maxson, Ronald (Margaret) Maxson and Norman (Cynthia) Maxson; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Pittsford Wesleyan Church, with Pator Douglas Plunkett officiating. Burial will follow at Leonardson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsford. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home, Hillsdale, MI.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hillsdale, the Pittsford Wesleyan Church, or the charity of donor's choice. Please visit www.hamptonkurtzfuneralhomes.com to sign the guest book and/or send a condolence to the family.
