Willie W. Fleeharty Obituary
Willie W. Fleeharty of Jerome, Michigan passed away on September 5, 2017. He was born on January 7, 1932 in Geff, Illinois to Benjamin and Olive (Bailey) Fleeharty.
Willie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alberta (Hickenbottom) Fleeharty; two daughters, Mary Crawford and Mitzi Warren; son-in-law, Alex Warren; four grandchildren, Justin (Jaime) Warren, Aisling Warren, Will (Kacy) Crawford and Jenna Crawford; three great grandchildren, Tobin Warren, Gavin Warren and Audrey Warren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; two brothers, Fredrick Fleeharty and Arthur Fleeharty and one sister, Geraldine Trotter.
Willie served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was also a member of the Jonesville American Legion Post #195. Willie was a Priest at the Community of Christ in Jackson. In 1966, he achieved his dream to own a farm. It was then that he built his house, barn and dug his own pond that is affectionately known as "Lake Willie". He was an avid hunter and no stranger to hard work having started two businesses on his own.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 with Elder Robert Williams officiating. Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Jonesville American Legion Post #195 will follow at the Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
