BELFRY - Cannie Carman Thacker Sr. went to see Jesus, May 24, 2016 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born on March 9, 1933 in Fish Trap, KY to Mose and Vada Thacker of McAndrew's, KY. Cannie was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; four sisters and two half-sisters.
Cannie is survived by his wife, Sonna B. Thacker (Williamson) of Hillsdale, MI; his daughters, Pamela Diana (Rick) Castle; Connie Sue (David) Songer; son, Cannie Carman Jr.; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He celebrated 60 years of marriage this past Christmas. He will be greatly missed by his church, Hillsdale Assembly of God, family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Milan Michigan Masonic Lodge, a veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Ford Motor Company in Wayne, Michigan.
A funeral service will be held at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel in Belfry, Kentucky on Saturday, May 28, 2016 beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, any donations may be sent to ICU Cardiac Unit of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital at P.O. Box 995, Ann Arbor, MI 48106. Local arrangements were handled by Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Homes in Hillsdale.
