Richard John Woodruff

Richard John Woodruff, 77, of Smithfield, was reunited with his parents and brother peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in Logan, Utah. He was born Oct. 7, 1936, in Logan to Clarinda Done and Angus Q. Woodruff.
John grew up in Utah and graduated from Logan High School. He attended and graduated from the University of California at Berkley in Radiochemistry. John honorably served in the U.S. Navy. John was a lifelong fisherman, abalone hunter, softball player, and gardener. John was a generous man who shared the best tomatoes, peaches, and cherries in Cache Valley with all those that came his way.
Our loving Uncle will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth M. Woodruff; nephew, Richard and Betty Woodruff; 10 great-grand nephews and nieces and nine great-great-grand nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarinda Done and Angus Q. Woodruff, and brother Angus Done Woodruff.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Smithfield Cemetery with military honors. Family and friends attended a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Allen-Hall Mortuary.
