Steven E. Speth

Steven E. Speth returned home to his Heavenly Father on Easter Day, March 31, 2013, as we celebrated the Resurrection or our Savior and his sacrifice to all the world. On this Easter Day our beloved father also sacrificed his life for the life of his little grandson.
Steven was born in Logan, Utah, on May 8, 1958, to Ernest LaMoyne Speth and Lorna Faye Peterson. Steve grew up in North Ogden, Utah, and graduated from Weber High School. He served eight years in the U.S. Navy. That is where he met Karen Louise Moscatiello from Bayonne, N.J. They began their life together in Ogden, Utah. Later they moved to Logan, Utah, and raised four children. He was married in the Logan LDS Temple and sealed to his children. After 32 years of marriage, they were divorced.
He then met Millie Jean Webb. They married Dec. 23, 2012, at the Wellsville LDS church. Steve loved working on the farm with his grandparents, loved horses and attending rodeos with his wife Millie and stepdaughter Marissa, and loved woodworking and spending time with family.
He currently worked for EA Miller in Hyrum, Utah, and made a lifetime profession driving trucks which he and his son Richard so loved.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Steven is survived by his three children, Cody Steven Speth of Ogden, Utah, Jody Lynn Hull (Darin) of Ogden, Utah, and Richard LaMoyne Speth (Jessica) of Kimberly, Idaho; wife Millie Jean Speth of Wellsville, Utah; stepchildren Shawna Simons of Montana and Marissa Cook of Wellsville, Utah; 21 grandchildren; stepfather Richard Moscatiello of Ogden, Utah; siblings Kevin Speth (Janet) of Hyrum, Utah, Laurie Bradshaw (Brad) of North Ogden, Utah, Jeff Speth (Janae) of North Ogden, Utah, Sue Larsen (Troy) of West Jordan, Utah, Bryan Speth (Tina) of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Darin Speth (Dana) of Logan, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ernest and Edna Speth, father Ernest LaMoyne Speth, mother Lorna Faye Peterson Moscatiello and son Brody Carson Speth.
He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to love and know him.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday April 5, 2013, at the Wellsville 5th Ward chapel, 660 S. 100 West, with a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Providence City Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the police department, paramedics and Logan Regional Hospital for all their efforts in keeping him with us. Thanks also to Aaron's Mortuary of Ogden, Utah, for the care of our beloved father, brother, husband and grandfather.
