V. Hamilton Obituary
Fireworks and celebration announced the homecoming of V. LaRee Hamilton on July 24, 2012. After serving valiantly for 69 years, she was welcomed home.
She was born Dec. 4, 1942, to Loren K. and Verla Lowe Miller, the third of five children.
She married J. Lewis Hamilton on Sept. 9, 1961, and together they saw the world as he served in the U.S Army. Their marriage was made eternal in the Swiss LDS Temple on Sept. 1, 1973.
After a successful banking career she returned to school earning an associate's degree from WSU in 1989. She left her career goals to care for her husband until his passing Nov. 19, 1996. Then gradually she became the caregiver to her mother, Verla Miller.
LaRee was an active member of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings and was most proud of her service as a temple ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple from June 1999 to December 2009.
Never idle, she was always busy with her hands creating needlework treasures, bottling up the harvest, and growing a beautiful and fruitful garden for her family, neighbors and friends.
She is survived by her children Lisa (Tony) Paskins of Pleasant View and Robert (Cindy) Hamilton of Smithfield; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, with one due in August. She is also survived by her two sisters, Elaine (Dale) Norberg of Green River, Wyo., and Carolyn (George, deceased) Norton of Woodinville, Wash.; two brothers, Kenneth (Sue) Miller of Altamont, Utah, and John (Jill) Miller of Green River, Wyo., and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
LaRee not only cared for her immediate family but was always concerned with the welfare of extended family, neighbors and friends. Special thanks to LaRee's ward family for all of their thoughts, prayers and service over the years.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at the South Ogden 8th Ward building, 720 Nancy Drive in Ogden. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. in Ogden, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. She will be laid to rest beside her eternal companion in the Baggs Cemetery in Wyoming. Graveside services will begin at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
