LOGAN, Utah - Carma Chambers Boudrero, 89, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 18, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
The Guest Book is expired.
Carma was born March 20, 1922, in Hyde Park, Utah, the second of six children born to Alfred William and Lillian Thurston Chambers. Carma was raised in Smithfield where she attended Summit Elementary and Smithfield Jr. High School. She went on to graduate from North Cache High School and Seminary in 1940.
She attended Utah State Agricultural College for three years and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. It is there, in the halls of Old Main, she met Louis Blaine Boudrero. They were married Jan. 6, 1944, in the Logan LDS Temple.
In addition to raising a family, Carma graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor of science degree in the College of Family Life, and was a member of the National Honor Society in Home Economics, Phi Upsilon Omicron. She taught school in the Cache County School District for 22 years, from 1965-72 at North Cache Jr. High and 1972-87 at South Cache Jr. High. She never lost her love for learning and teaching. Carma was an excellent cook, seamstress and homemaker and she loved serving her family.
Carma has been active in the LDS Church throughout her life, having served in Primary, Sunday School, MIA and Relief Society and has been a visiting teacher for over 59 years. She was set apart as a Logan Temple Officiator in 1987 and served there for 14 years. She loved the time she served at the temple and made many lasting friendships.
Blaine and Carma were members of the Old Main Society, Big Blue Club, and they were longtime Aggie season ticket holders. She was an avid fan and enjoyed attending games with her family and knew all the players' names. She followed every road game, even when they played late into the night. She rarely missed any basketball games, and attended this year until her health prevented her from doing so.
Carma is survived by her children, David Blaine (Shawna) of Hyde Park, Daryl Grant (Janet) of Mountain Green, Utah, Richard Alan (Terri) of Hyde Park, Randall Clair (Nadine) of Layton, Utah, and Bonnie (Dee) Heyrend of Hyde Park. Her legacy includes 25 grandchildren, three of whom are currently serving LDS missions, and 27 great-grandchildren with three more on the way. She is survived by one brother, Jay Thurston Chambers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Louis Blaine; a son, Alfred Louis; and a daughter, Lori Ann. Carma was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Loa; and brothers, Alfred Leo, Theron Dale and Marlin Kay Chambers.
She was a wonderful example of Christ-like love and charity.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, at the Willow Valley 2nd Ward chapel, 825 N. 200 West, Logan, with Bishop Richard Stockdale conducting. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, and from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
