Rallo Ray Johnson Obituary

April 16, 1926 - Jan. 19, 2008
Our beloved Ray passed away peacefully at his home in Rocklin, Calif., on Saturday at the age of 81. He was born in Richmond, Utah, to Joseph Ray and Winona (Larson) Johnson. He attended school in Richmond and graduated from North Cache High School.
Ray is a veteran of the U.S. Army Tank Destroyer Battalion and served in the European theater. He received an honorable discharge as second lieutenant, U.S. Army Reserve.
Ray attended and graduated from Utah State Agricultural College, presently Utah State University, where he played basketball all four years. He then played professional basketball for the Kansas City Hi Spots of the National Professional Basketball League.
Ray married ArDean Albiston on July 6, 1951, in the Logan Temple. After they married, they moved to Oakley, Idaho, where Ray taught school and coached high school basketball and football before moving to San Jose, Calif., where he continued to teach until his retirement.
Ray was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was called to many leadership positions, served a stake mission and also served as a temple officiator at the Oakland Temple.
He is survived by his wife ArDean and their three children, JoLyn (Mrs. Gerald) Kent, Doug Johnson and Mark Johnson. There are six grandsons, Brandon, Dustin, Christopher, Matthew, Cory Johnson and Brian Kent (Marina); four granddaughters, Kelli Johnson, Kristie Johnson, Stephanie Kent and Amy (Mrs. Ryan) Chasteen; and two great-granddaughters, Makayla Chasteen and Gracie Kent. He is also survived by three brothers, Robert Johnson (Carol), Bart Johnson (Sandra) and Dell Johnson (Sandra).
Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2008, in Rocklin, Calif.
