Ona Barnes Partington, born on March 23, 1922, in Neola, Utah, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, in Logan, Utah, from leukemia.

Ona was the eighth child of Hugh and Charlotte Aline Blanchard Barnes. She moved from Neola to North Farmington, Utah, and started first grade in Kaysville, Utah. During her high school years, her family moved to Rockland, Idaho. As a teenager, Ona was active in 4-H and basketball.
After graduating from Rockland High School in 1940, Ona attended nursing school in Logan. Here Ona met Ray Partington and was married May 30, 1942. To this union were born two sons, Lynn (Deb) Lake of St Louis, Mo. and Clyde (Kelsey) of Logan.
Ray and Ona were successful farmers on their ranch in Petersboro, Utah, until they retired. Ona and Ray loved the Utah State Aggies and were part of the Big Blue Club. They traveled all over the U.S. supporting the team at home and away games; they even traveled to Japan for the Aggies. Ona and Ray loved to travel and see the world. Ona loved to golf and fish. Ona was a member of the Good Sam Club.
Ona is preceded in death by her parents, seven of her brothers and sisters: Dora Woodward, Kate Adams, Hugh, James, Charles, Lola Purvis and Vonda Barnes. She is survived by her sons and their wives, four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her sister Stella Hedley. Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the Logan City Cemetery, 1200 E. 1000 North in Logan, where Ona will be laid to rest next to her beloved Ray. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.allen mortuaries.net.
