Steven E. Tibbitts
1957-2014
Millville - Steven Elmer Tibbitts, 56, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep during the early morning of April 10, 2014. He was born in Caliente, Nev., on Dec. 11, 1957, to his parents, Elmer and Sherry Tibbitts. Steven was raised with his five brothers and sister in Panaca, Nev. He was educated thru high school in the Lincoln County School District, graduating from Lincoln County High School in 1976.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and gathering firewood during his years in Panaca. The small town environment was perfect for him, as he was outgoing and knew everyone in the community.
In 1980, Steven moved to Millville, Utah, with his parents and brothers Lee and Clark. His time in Millville was spent fishing with his father, attending adult LDS Institute, a Boy Scout troop for the handicapped, and participating in the Common Ground and Best Buddies programs. He earned his Eagle Scout award in 2011 with his cousins, Brian and Curtis Jenson. The family sincerely appreciates all those individuals that give selflessly of their time in supporting these programs and individuals with special needs. He loved you and looked forward to the time he spent with you each week.
Steven has been employed for the past 11 years at SEI in Logan, Utah. He enjoyed his association with the fellow employees at SEI. Steven has been a faithful and devoted member of the LDS Church his entire life, always serving to the best of his ability in any calling he was asked to do.
He loved his Aggies and the Jazz. He always watched the Jazz on TV with his mom and was totally engaged in the outcome. He attended many USU basketball and football games, but he especially enjoyed the Aggie hockey games.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and brother Clark. He is survived by his siblings Gary (Vicki) of Orem, Utah; Dan (Karen) of Taylorsville, Utah; Loree (Mason) of Panaca, Nev.; Brent (Lisa) of Panaca; and Lee (Kim) of Millville, Utah.
