BRIGHAM CITY - Stephen Bybee Smith, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his home.

Stephen was born in Lewiston, Utah, on Aug. 4, 1919, a son of Alma Francis and Melissa Ann Bybee Smith.
He married his sweetheart, LaRue Robinson, on Aug. 4, 1938, in the Logan LDS Temple. Stephen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church positions and enjoyed doing genealogy. Stephen and LaRue served a mission in Oklahoma.
He worked at Fife Construction for 35 years. Stephen was well loved by all, he was dedicated to his family and was a hard-working man of integrity. Stephen was a fun-loving man who was the life of the party at family reunions.
Surviving are his children: Jean Pope, Bear River City, Utah; Alan R. (Gina) Smith, Brigham City; Craig R. (Marilyn) Smith, Brigham City; Debra Ann (Dee) Walker, Corinne, Utah; and daughter-in-law, Beverly Smith, Kaysville; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; also a sister, Joan (Owen) Smoot.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife LaRue; and son S. Wayne Smith.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 15, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Brigham City 20th Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Dr., Brigham City.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 East; and Monday 9:45 to 10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
