Alicia Walczak

Alicia Garcia Walczak, age 66, of Grand Haven, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, at her home. She retired from the State of Michigan where she was a social worker for 30 years; was a member of the Grand Haven VFW and American Legion; and was very involved in the Grand Haven community.

Alicia was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Chavez. She is survived by her children, Kristina McNeely and Bill Dunn of Takoma Park, MD, Mark and Cynthia Quintero of Holland; grandchildren, Monica Dixon and Chad Ybarra of Holland, Marcos Quintero of Holland, Brandon McNeely of Maryland, Robert Quintero of Holland, Carlos Quintero of Holland; Great Granddaughter, Aiyanna Ybarra of Holland; parents, Savas and Ramona Chavez of Holland; siblings, Armida and George Guerrero of Holland, Angel and Deb Chavez of Holland, Savas and Veronica Chavez of Texas, Arturo Chavez of Holland, Carlos and Kathy Chavez of Holland; many nieces and nephews.

A visitation is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. with Wake Prayers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St., Holland. In keeping with Alicia's wishes, her family will scatter her ashes in Lake Michigan later this summer.
