Harry Nephew

Harry Nephew, age 81, of Zeeland, passed away in the blessed hope of Christ's soon return on Monday, September 16, 2013, at his home.

Harry was a member of the Bauer Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where he served as a deacon and elder for many years. He loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and trapping; baseball and golf. He was a hard worker, and enjoyed spending time with family. Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Zechary Nephew.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Nephew of 59 years; children, Mike and Adele Nephew of Zeeland, Mark Nephew of Zeeland, and Joel and Corina Nephew of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Melissa and Mitch Meiste, Cooper and Grady Meiste, Julie and Daryl Pittman, Abbi and Ella Pittman, Doug and Rachel Nephew, Derek, Ryan, and Charlotte Nephew, Justin Nephew, Ethan Nephew, Alex Nephew, and Jessica Nephew; a brother, Jess and Virginia Nephew of Iron Mountain, MI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alice Geurink, Frances Fox, Bob Hamstra, Ed and Ellen Hamstra, Jim and Linda Hamstra, Don and Bonita Hamstra. He is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. September 27, 2013, at Holland Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 11279 Ottogan St., Holland 49423. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., and Friday, September 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Because of his love of children, memorial contributions may be made to the Holland Seventh-Day Adventist Elementary School (for use in physical fitness activities).
