Ron was veteran of the U.S. Army
National Guard. He retired from Coca Cola, and along with his wife Kristi, owned and operated Kristi's Golf Range north of Zeeland. He was an avid golfer and trap shooter.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Elizabeth Bouwman; and a brother, John (Bud) Bouwman.
He is survived by his loving wife and sweetheart of 14 years, Kristi Bouwman of Holland. Ron loved and cherished his special relationship with Kristi's daughters, Courtney Slinko and Tiffaney Dierolf, and their husbands, Rich Slinko and Jeff Dierolf. Grandpa Ronna/Ron adored his four grandchildren, Ava (7) and Kyle Dierolf (4), and Jade (3) and Derek (1) Slinko, as well as having fun, playing, and laughing with them. He held them dear to his heart. He is also survived by his sisters, Harriet and Bill Mulder, and Marjorie and Arnold Pasma of California, Shirley and Alvin Meiste of Holland; brother, Elmer Don and Allie Bouwman of Zeeland; sisters-in-law, Pat Bouwman of California, Lisa Miller of Holland; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for 7 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2013, at Second Reformed Church, 225 E. Central Ave., Zeeland. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
