Ronald Kalmink age 80, of Hamilton, died Sunday, January 26, 2014, at his home following a brief illness.
Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
, serving during the Korean War
. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Holland and retired from Forts Candy.
Ron enjoyed fast pitch softball, bowling, golf and gardening. He was a collector of vintage cars and generous with all he had.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona; a son, Larry; and a great-granddaughter.
He is survived by his children, Sandra Kalmink-Riggs and Brinton Riggs of Holland, Randy and Shannon Kalmink of Zeeland, Michael and Jennifer Kalmink of Hastings; daughter-in-law, Jane and Jim Dunkerton of Allegan; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Austin Kalmink of Hamilton, Bernice and Vern Ekema of Zeeland, Evelyn and Eugene Berens of Allegan; in-laws, Wayne and Connie Schipper of Holland, Nancee and Ken Kleinheksel of Hamilton, Josephine Hoffman, Harlene and Harvey Lubbers, Marilyn and Dale Folkert, all of Hamilton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Trinity Reformed Church, 712 Apple Ave., Holland, with the Rev. Chris De Graaf officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, at Trinity Reformed Church. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland or Trinity Reformed Church. Arrangements are by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St., Holland.
