Thomas Lee Becksvoort

Thomas Lee Becksvoort, age 52, of Clinton Township, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 27, 2014. He died after a courageous seven month battle with melanoma. His funeral service was at Wujek Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights.

He was the beloved husband of Kathy (Kaiser); and devoted father to Blake and Brooke. Tom was born in Holland on June 6, 1961, to Mike and Elaine Becksvoort, who reside in Holland. He is also survived by his sisters, Patti (Bob) Schuitema of Holland and Lori (Bill) Wolters of Ann Arbor.

He also leaves his in-laws, Bob and Mary Kaiser, Jeff and Nancy Klei, Dave and Diane Kaiser, Dan and Cindy Kaiser; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Tom graduated from Holland High School and Western Michigan University, where he met Kathy. Married almost 27 years, they built a life together in Clinton Township. Tom was devoted to his wife and children. They traveled together to all parts of the country and always looked forward to a tropical getaway during the winter months. Tom loved sports and was an active spectator to the many sports activities in which his children participated.

He was an avid boater and was always most content on or near a body of water in a warm climate. He lived life to the fullest and was a dear friend to many.

Tom enjoyed a great working relationship with his employer, Ammeraal Beltech USA for the past 27 years, and remained a top sales producer during those years.

Tom maintained his sense of humor even during the last week of his life. His families will forever treasure every minute they were able to spend with him during his final days on this earth.

A celebration of Tom's life will be scheduled at Christ Memorial Church in Holland at a later date.
