Alfred L. Pshea Obituary
Alfred L. Pshea, 93, of Fennville, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at The Inn at Freedom Village in Holland. Alfred was born on November 22, 1919, in Douglas, the son of George W. and Eva (Prentice) Pshea.

Alfred was a fruit farmer before joining the Entomology Department at Michigan State University, retiring as a Research Assistant and the Manager of Trevor Nichols Experiment Station in Fennville. He was a member of the Michigan Fruit Growers Association and the Future Farmers of America Advisory Board, a 4-H Leader, and an Assistant Scout Master of the Saugatuck Sea Scouts. During his life he enjoyed trapping, hunting, bee keeping, bowling, gardening, and wood working. He served as a Ship Fitter First Class in the Submarine Service during World War II.

Alfred is loved and survived by his children and spouses, William (Pam) Pshea of Oakland, CA, Yvonne Richter of Geneva, IL, Lorelei (Terry) Stehle of Hamilton, Judy (John) Horn of Fennville; his grandchildren, Shannon (Andy) Bowman, Wendy (Kevin) Calcagno; his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Maya, Grant and Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Ruth Pshea. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite organization working towards a cure for breast cancer.

A memorial visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville. An online registry book is available at
