Harry D. Kamer Obituary
Harry D. Kamer, age 90, of Zeeland, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014, at his home.

Harry served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was wounded in Italy, and awarded a Purple Heart. He was a former member of Pine Creek Christian Reformed Church where he served as Elder and Cadet Counselor, and was a current member of Messiah's Independent Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Jahnke; two brothers, Justin and Jerry Kamer.

Harry is survived by his wife, Marjorie; and children, Elizabeth and Steve VanderPloeg of Allendale, Judy and Ed Nagelkirk of Zeeland; son-in-law, Dave Jahnke of Caledonia; grandchildren, Aaron and Joanna Vander Ploeg, Leah and Jake Wisner, Katie and Rick Van Til, Jon and Emily Nagelkirk, Brad Jahnke; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Don Kamer of Remus, Hilda Westhuis of Hudsonville, Edna and Bob Snip of Bauer, Gladys and Jerry Brink of Zeeland, Iris Kamer of Holland, Gert Kamer of Holland; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Messiah's Independent Church, 4528 48th Street in Holland. Reverend Ken Anema will be officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday, January 17, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland.
