Robert D. Hieftje Obituary
On Sunday, May 4, 2014, Robert D. Hieftje, age 82, was completely healed as he passed into the presence of his Savior. It is the place he longed for–especially over the past several weeks.

Bob was a member of Hamilton Reformed Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Hamilton Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lottie; children Karen (Cal) Lubbers, Sandy (Tom) Pitsch, Pat (Gary) Immink; grandchildren, Tanya (Jeff) Obbink, Ryan (Micki) Pitsch, Trevis (Amy) Pitsch, Lisa (Mike) VanOmmen, Scott (Stacey) Lubbers, Greg (Ivanka) Immink, Katie (Josh) Lamer, Eric Immink; great-grandchildren, Taylor Obbink, Nicole and Caleb Pitsch, Aliyah and Trista Pitsch, Lauren and Allie VanOmmen, Miles Lubbers, and two on the way; a brother, Don Hieftje; brother-in-law, Floyd (Marlene) Nykerk; sisters-in-law, MaeLee Nykerk, Geri (Ted) Schreur, Elaine Voorhorst, Marilyn (Ron) Gebben. A brother-in-law, Chet Nykerk, preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be at Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 M-40 on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 7 p.m. Reverend Tom Dekker will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, May 7, from 5–8 p.m. at Hamilton Reformed Church.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Resthaven Care Center for their kind and compassionate care, and to Bob's friends at Evergreen Commons for their encouragement.
