Hazel Irene Matchinsky Obituary
Hazel Irene Matchinsky, age 94, of Holland, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Heritage Nursing Facility in Zeeland.

Born in Holland, Hazel graduated from Holland Christian High School. Following graduation she enlisted in the U.S. Army and met her husband, Ken, while serving in Paris, France. They would later get married in the American Catheredal in Paris. Together they made their home in Holland. She was longtime member of Central Park Reformed Church where she was involved in many church organizations.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth J. Matchinsky in 1999.

She is survived by her children, Marla and James Zeedyk, Lynn and David Van Hekken, Tim and Deb Matchinsky, all of Holland; grandchildren, Heather (Jerry), Chris (Jennifer), Katy, Angie (Jay), Peter (Katie), Andy (Alina), T.J. (Dina); great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Carson, Max, Tanner, Jackson, Tyce, Sammuel, Noah and Beckett; sister-in-law, Vicky Matchinsky of Holland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Central Park Reformed Church, 614 Myrtle Ave. with Rev. Kevin Kleinheksel officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Friends may call on the family Wednesday, 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
