She was loved and cherished by 10 great-grandchildren. Her brother-in-law, Milton Schoon of Janesville, WI also survives her.

Her nursing career took her from Chicago to San Diego, Palm Springs, and Jackson Hole. She returned to nursing at Engelwood Hospital in Chicago, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at DePaul University.

At age 51, Anne met and married John Schoon. She moved from city life to country living outside Valparaiso, IN. They remained faithful members of Trinity Reformed Church in Munster, IN. Family and friends enjoyed many joyous outings at The Farm. Anne used her gifts of cooking, baking, knitting and other handwork to bless others.

In 2008, Anne moved from Highland, IN, to The Warm Friend in Holland to be closer to the majority of her family where she enjoyed many strolls on 8th Street and Friday night pizza. In December, 2013, she moved to Oak Crest Community, where she enjoyed her view of nature. The family deeply thanks The Warm Friend, Oak Crest, and Hospice of Holland for the excellent care they gave Anne.
