E.R. "Skip" Fetters Jr. Obituary
E.R. (Skip) Fetters, Jr., was born on the 29th of March, 1949 in Benton Harbor, to Mildred Lucile and Eugene Robert Fetters. He passed away on May 30, 2014.

Skip attended the Leelanau School for Boys in Glen Arbor prior to graduating from Saint Joseph High School in St. Joseph. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University, he began his career as a staff accountant for Western Pine Industries in Snowflake, AZ. Moving back to Michigan, Skip worked as a third generation family member in their business of Sanitary Cleaners Corporation and Fetters Enterprises. Skip managed the subsidiary company of Michigan Cleaners and Formalwear Center located in Benton Harbor. After several years of internship, he was promoted to Operations Manager of the family Corporation that operated in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. During that time period, Skip graduated from the International Fabricare Institute located in Silver Springs, MD, in their general management courses, the Cleaver Brooks Corporations general course in boiler management located in Hershey, PA, and was very active in The Mid America Cost Bureau group. He was also a Director and Vice President of the Michigan Institute of Laundering and Dry Cleaning Inc., where he held all board positions including President of the Exchange Club of Benton Harbor. He also served as a Chamber Director for the Twin Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1992, he left the family business to finish his Masters in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University, while working for the university as the Assistant MBA Coordinator and a Graduate Assistant to the Dean. After several years of investing in real estate, Skip became a licensed real estate agent working with Coldwell Banker Woodland Schmidt in Holland. He was a graduate of Realtors Institute of Michigan (GRI) in addition to a Top Producer with this company. While in Holland, he was also a member of the Exchange Club of Holland, and was a committee member with the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce. Skip was an accomplished competition swimmer, snow and water skier, avid reader of history, the Bible, and philosophy. He enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, the Mediterranean, and the United States. Skip had a deep love for his pets, enjoyed working on the many homes he owned and the gardens he created.

Skip is survived by his mother, Mildred Fetters; sister, Sharon Hafer; nephews, Mark Hafer and Mike Hafer; niece, Cindy Hafer; uncles, aunts and cousins.
