Harris Jay Dyke Obituary
Harris Jay Dyke, 89, of Allendale, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 15, 2014.

Harris was born May 4, 1924, in Holland, to John and Henrietta (Tripp) Dyke. Harris served in Europe in U.S. Army during World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Mathilda (Otten) and they raised their family in Allendale, and were members of First Allendale Christian Reformed Church. For most his career Harris worked for Grand Rapids Metalcraft and later retired from Allendale Telephone. Mathilda preceded him in death in 1990. Harris was living in Allendale with his wife Pauline and they were members of Faith United Reformed Church. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Fanesta (Flokstra) Lubbers.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Raak); children, Randall (Mary) Dyke, Marcia (Rex) Hansen, John (Jill) Dyke, Dan (Nancy) Dyke; grandchildren, Greg Dyke, Heather Rodriguez, Lindsey (Michael) Breimayer, April (Trent) Bisonet, Nicole (Kamran) Ismail, Travis (Katelyn) Dyke, Derek (Mindy) Dyke, Chad (Michelle) Dyke, Jennifer Dyke, Neil Kaufman, Laura Kaufman; great-grandchildren, Anna and Livia Bisonet, Brody and Cayden Rodriguez, Evelynn Dyke, Isaac Ismail; sister, Vonnie and Howard Beelen; stepchildren, Marlene (Roger) Nyhuis, Donna (Terry) Rouwhorst, Jim (Elaine) Raak, Phyllis (Jim) Vanderbilt; several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; in-laws, Rhine Lubbers, Gladys Brummel, Delbert (Winnie) Machiela, Lorraine Wieringa, Chester (Carrie) Machiela, Marilyn (Gordon) Wassink, Roger (Helene) Machiela.

Funeral services to honor the faith and life of Harris J. Dyke will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Faith United Reformed Church, 8270 120th Ave., West Olive MI 49460. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Yntema Funeral Home, and 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Allendale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund at Faith United Reformed Church. www.yntemafh.com
