Richard Kennedy Obituary

Richard Kennedy Sr.

Richard Albert Kennedy Sr., 70, a 35-year resident of Crofton, died June 10 at Crofton Care of respiratory failure, following an eight month illness.
He was born May 31, 1942 in Baltimore, and attended Catonsville Community College, where he earned an Associate's Degree. Richard was a SP4 in the U.S. Army. He was employed in independent sales. Among his achievements, he was Marine Corps Civilian of the Year, in addition to Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge in Bowie.
Married June 24, 1967, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Kennedy on April 10, 2011; and his sister, Barbara Kennedy.
He is survived by his son, Rick Kennedy Jr. of Crofton; his daughters, Allison Ryan of Severn and
Meredith Kennedy of Tucson, AZ; his brothers, Robert Kennedy of Frederick and John Kennedy of North Carolina; and grandson, Christopher Ryan.
There will be a memorial gathering from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A., 851 Annapolis Rd, Gambrills. A Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 15, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Dr., Crofton. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville following services.
