Laurence Holden Obituary

HOLDEN, LAURENCE HENRY, 49, filmmaker, actor, and disciple of our Lord, left this world for a better one on February 13th. A 1979 graduate of Meade High School and Towson University alumnus, Larry's ("Boo's") acting credits included "Memento", "Insomnia", "Batman Begins", and many independent films as well as television's "ER" and "CSI". His greatest passion, however, was writing and directing his own independent films including the award winning (2002 New York International Film and Video Festival's Independent Achievement Award) "My Father's House" (also nominated for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor by the 2002 California Independent Film Festival), "Tucked In His Knuckles", "All Sun And Little White Flowers", among many others.

Larry, born May 15, 1961, the beloved son of Command Sergeant Major Laurence E. (deceased) and Friederike H. Holden, is also survived by his wife Hanne Kristiansen; three siblings, Patrick L. Holden and wife Beth, Angela Holden, Deborah Holden-Baker and husband Kevin; niece Payton and nephews Miles, Ryan, Justin and Derek; and numerous other relatives and friends from California to Baltimore to Canada and Europe. Among many other things, Larry will be missed for his loving, down to earth, independent nature, his zest for life, his unwavering loyalty to his friends and family, and his intense relentless passion and dedication to his craft of independent filmmaking.

A memorial gathering will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, February 25th at Singleton Funeral Home, 1 2nd Avenue SW, Glen Burnie, Maryland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Monastery Church, 3801 Old Frederick Rd. in Baltimore.
